KOPPKK informuje o konkursie na Dyrektora Bunka Sztuki w Krakowie

Ze względu na mianowanie przez prezydenta miasta Krakowa Pani Marii Anny Potockiej - dyrektor Bunkra Sztuki na stanowisko dyrektor (w organizacji) Muzeum Sztuki Współczesnej w Krakowie, od dnia 1.02.2010 Bunkier Sztuki będzie kierowany przez p.o. Pana Romana Krzysztofika. Jednocześnie Urząd Miasta Krakowa w lutym 2010 zorganizuje konkurs na stanowisko dyrektora w Bunkrze Sztuki.



Warunki konkursu mają być ogłoszone już niedługo. Jako Komitet Obywatelski na rzecz przejrzystości w polityce kulturalnej Krakowa pragniemy poinformować wszystkich zainteresowanych już teraz, ponieważ zdajemy sobie sprawę, że podjęcie decyzji o kandydowaniu oraz przygotowania do konkursu wymagają czasu.


Bunkier Sztuki jest jedną z najważniejszych galerii sztuki współczesnej w Polsce, dlatego chcielibyśmy, żeby konkurs stał się szansą do wyłonienia kandydata, który będzie gwarantem profesjonalizmu i wysokiego poziomu działalności galerii.

Komitet na rzecz przejrzystości w polityce kulturalnej Krakowa powstał w październiku 2009 z inicjatywy artystów, kuratorów, krytyków oraz osób zainteresowanych. Impulsem do stworzenia Komitetu była niejasna sytuacja wokół nowopostającego Muzeum Sztuki Współczesnej i Bunkra Sztuki. Brak oficjalnych informacji dotyczących przyszłego dyrektora muzealnej placówki, programu nowej instytucji spowodował zaniepokojenie środowiska, co zaowocowało listem do prezydenta Majchrowskiego, spotkaniami z radnymi, wojewodą małopolskim Stanisławem Kracikiem a także ministrem kultury Bogdanem Zdrojewskim. Od 1.02.2010 na stanowisko dyrektora (w organizacji) została powołana Maria Anna Potocka.

Naszym celem jest monitorowanie konkursu na stanowisko dyrektora w Bunkrze Sztuki a w dalszym czasie także doprowadzenie do konkursu na dyrektora Muzeum Sztuki Współczesnejoraz zwrócenie uwagi miasta na obowiązek publicznej debaty dotyczącej tak ważnych inicjatyw jak powoływanie nowych instytucji i dyskusja nad ich programem.


Call for applications to fill the post of Director of Bunkier Sztuki Gallery


Following the nomination of the former Bunkier Sztuki’s Director Maria Anna Potocka to the director’s post in Contemporary Art Museum, the Mayor of Kraków is going to choose the new Director of Bunkier Sztuki Gallery in an open competition. Rules of the competition will be announced shortly. Of course, it takes time to take a decision to participate in such a competition, so we – as Citizens’ Committee for Transparency in Kraków’s Cultural Policy – would like to make this fact as widely know as possible right now.


Bunkier Sztuki is one of the most important contemporary art galleries in Poland, therefore we want the competition to be a chance for selecting a candidate who will guarantee professionalism and highest quality of gallery’s activity.

Citizens’ Committee for Transparency in Kraków’s Cultural Policy was established in October 2009 by artists, curators, critics and activists as a reply to an opaque situation surrounding Bunkier Sztuki and Contemporary Art Museum in Kraków. Lack of official information about the future Museum’s director as well as its program caused concern of art community. The Committee addressed the President of Kraków in an open letter signed by around 400 art professional from the entire country. The representatives of the Committee – artists Marta Deskur and Wilhel Sasnal -   met with the Mayor of Kraków Jacek Majchrowski, town councilors responsible for culture, provincial governor Stanisław Kracik and also the Minister of Culture Bogdan Zdrojewski. The main postulate was an open international competition for the post of director in Contemporary Art Musseum. The initiative, despite its wide support in the art community as well as the media, has been completely ignored by the officials. The Mayor of Kraków refused to organize the competition and Maria Anna Potocka was appointed to the post effective from February the 1st 2010. She will remain in office for an indefinite period of time to complete the process of the Museum’s organization. However no deadline is given for accomplishing this task and it will be entirely up to the new director to decide when the organization is finished.


Our aim now is to monitor the competition for the director of Bunkier Sztuki and to stimulate  a public debate concerning the cultural politics of the City of Kraków. We believe the competition for the new director of Contemporary Art Museum should be held as soon as it is open to the public. There should also be a definite term for this office. According to the current regulations directors of all public Museums in Poland are appointed for lifetime.
